Density treatments are often requested when male or female patrons are suffering from thinness on the crown. Thinness for women is normally present at the partline, temple, or top of the crown. Thinness for men is normally present at the hairline, temple, mid-crown, or back of the crown. Thinning hair can be the result of genetics, aging, or hormonal imbalances. The crown is heavily layered in order to ensure the center of the scalp is slightly darker than the rest of the crown, so the impressions (dots), can blend in with the hair at the back of the crown and nape which is normally lighter.
